Where does the Bitcoin price come from?

Live BTC/USD ticks come from the public Coinbase Exchange WebSocket feed. Historical candles for the chart and the all-time high are fetched from the public Coinbase Exchange REST API.

Is the momentum gauge a price prediction?

No. The momentum gauge is a heuristic that combines recent percent moves over 5, 15, 30, and 60 minutes with the green-to-red 1-minute candle ratio and position in the recent range. It describes what just happened, not what will happen. It is not financial advice.

How do price alerts work?

Type any target price and press Add. The site sets the alert as Above current price or Below current price automatically and stores it in your browser. When the live price crosses the target, the site fires a browser notification and a short audio chime, then removes the alert.

Does the site collect any personal data?

No. There are no accounts, no analytics scripts, no tracking pixels, and no server-side logging by this site. Theme choice, card order, alert list, and sound preference are stored only in your own browser using localStorage.

Can I install this site as an app on my phone?

Yes. The site is a Progressive Web App. On iOS, tap the share button in Safari and choose Add to Home Screen. On Android, open the menu in Chrome and choose Install app or Add to Home Screen. The icon will live alongside your other apps and open the tracker in a standalone window.

What does the 24-hour volume figure mean?

It is the total notional value (current price multiplied by Coinbase 24h base volume) of Bitcoin traded on Coinbase Exchange in the last 24 hours. The subtitle shows the same number in BTC. Higher volume usually means more liquidity and more conviction behind the price action.
