# Bitcoin Live Price Tracker

> A free, real-time Bitcoin (BTC/USD) price tracker. Live prices stream from the public Coinbase Exchange WebSocket feed and update on every trade tick. The site shows the current price, an interactive candlestick chart with twelve timeframes (5 minutes through all-time), technical overlays (moving averages, VWAP, Bollinger Bands, RSI, volume), a short-term momentum gauge, and customizable browser-notification price alerts. No accounts, no tracking, no ads.

The site is a single static page at https://bitcoinpriceboard.com. All settings (theme, card order, price alerts, sound preference) are stored client-side in localStorage. There is no server-side user data and no analytics.

## What this site is not

- Not a trading platform. You cannot buy or sell BTC here.
- Not financial advice. The momentum gauge is a math heuristic over recent price moves, not a forecast.
- Not a guarantee of accuracy. Live data depends on a public WebSocket connection that can drop or lag. Always verify on the exchange you actually trade on.
- Not a price oracle. Other applications should pull directly from Coinbase or another primary source rather than scraping this page.
